Since 2013, Emilio Dávila-Gonzalez has been coordinating ICT standardisation issues within the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CNECT), including the European Multi-Stakeholder Platform on ICT standardisation.

He has been developing ICT/digital standardisation strategies and participating in governance bodies of European and international standardisation organisations. 

Emilio was seconded to the Spanish Presidency of the European Council, to follow-up Digital Transformation files and support the activities of the Telecom Council Working Party.

Before this, Mr. Dávila was appointed as a Research Project Officer in the field of Intelligent Transport Systems, following Connected Vehicles, iMobility and eSafety initiatives. He was responsible for the eCall file.

Emilio started working in the Commission in the Directorate General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD), within the EU programme to support the participation of SMEs in the EU Framework Programmes for research and Innovation..

Before joining the European Commission, Mr. Dávila set up and directed the liaison office in Brussels of the Spanish Association for New Technologies (AENTEC), which brought together Spanish high-tech SMEs. Before it, he was liaison officer for ELIOP, a Spanish SME active on telecontrol systems and stations.
